Eco Flooring Systems BT Bamboo in 6 Star Green Rated Building
The Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA) rated 39 Hunter Street in
Sydney's CBD as 6 Star Green Star which is the first heritage building in
Australia to receive this rating.
As one of the ESD initiatives in sustainability, BT Bamboo classic laminated
flooring was chosen for parts of the floor area in this extensive refurbishment
project which has recently been completed.
BT Bamboo in the Carbonated Amber Vertical wide board has been used in
the construction of the stairs and access panels in the entrance of the
building. A stunning parquetry effect has been created with the panels. BT
Bamboo is also installed as a direct stick floor in the lobby areas and
stairwells of the seven commercial levels.
Not only is BT Bamboo a sustainable product, but it was chosen as an eco
preferred content material to improve indoor air quality with low VOC.
The Green Building Council of Australia has organised tours in June where
the architects Jackson Teece along with JCK outline tie design strategies for
the project and the details of the ESD initiatives.
