Waterco horizontal water filters now embodying fibreglass winding technology

Waterco's Micron commercial fibreglass filters are known throughout
the industry for their impressive performance and reliability. Waterco has incorporated
its innovative fibreglass winding techniques to now include its whole range of horizontal
filters. Previously gel coated, the fibreglass winding further strengthens the filter
vessel structure, so it can now withstand a working pressure of up to 400kPa (58psi).
Micron fibreglass horizontal filters consist of an inner shell of fibreglass reinforced
polyester resin over wound with fibreglass filament. Waterco's digitally controlled filament
winding machine faultlessly winds continuous strands of fibreglass filament to create a filter
vessel with refined consistency and superior quality, built for many years of trouble free
operation.
The Micron Horizontal Filter is a space-saving high performer; its compact horizontal design
allows installation with minimal waste of space. Its spherical ends are designed to give
uniform flow from both inlet and outlet collection assemblies. This system provides adequate
distribution to evenly expand the filter bed during backwash and the entire media bed is utilised
during the filter cycle.
Waterco's largest fibreglass wound horizontal filter, the MD11000, is capable of filtering 396
m3/hr (6600 lpm) and has a filter area of 11.0m2 and media bed depth of 1.2m. This filter is
5.85m in length and 2.17m in height.
