As a requirement for green a star rating on this project,
Hydroflor® decorative epoxy flake flooring was chosen as an epoxy floor
coating due its low VOC emissions. Prior to laying the Hydroflor® epoxy
floor coating system the floor had to stripped of loose tiles, paint, and
a cement based tile screed was applied to level the floor.
Hydroflor® is a decorative flooring system consisting of epoxy base coat,
coloured chips and a clear epoxy containing UV light blockers. An epoxy
base coat is applied to the floor surface, blended coloured vinyl flakes
are then broadcast into the wet epoxy surface, the following day the
floor is then sealed with a minimum of two coats of clear epoxy with a l
east a day between coats.
Oil spills and dirt marks simply wipe off making this epoxy based product
not only attractive in appearance but durable and easily cleaned. For
covered external floors with high UV exposure our recommended system is
Terraflake®.
Hydroflor® epoxy flake flooring is available in a range of standard
colours, Sahara Beech was chosen for this project.
