Engineered Floating Timber Floors from Sydney Flooring

Engineered Floating Floors
Commonly know as "Floating Floors", engineered floors generally consist of a pre-finished timber veneer on a plywood base which is laid over an underlay and can be installed over most flat, solid surfaces. Most have a veneer of around 4mm thick which is re-sandable. Sydney Flooring carry a wide range of engineered floors including Boral "Silkwood", an exciting range of Australian Hardwoods such as Blackbutt, Blue Gum, Brush Box, Spotted Gum, Tasmanian Oak & Jarah. Our range also includes Redifloor among other brands offering many European and Asian timber species such as European Oak, Hevea, Merbau, Northern Box and Kempas.
Laminates
Laminates also fall into the "Floating Floor" category. They usually are made from either a high or medium density fibre body with a "photo" of timber flooring laminated to the surface. Laminate flooring will have a good scratch resistance and are generally economical in price. The range of species used for laminate flooring has grown to include Australian Hardwoods such as Spotted Gum, Blackbutt & Red Mahogany. Laminate flooring is available in different thicknesses and with new production techniques there are also various textures available.
